Read the sermon text: Luke 24

Read the sermon summary: Jesus died to meet your greatest need, to deliver you from your greatest pain so you can proclaim and live for the greatness of Christ name. In this message, we will look at 3 interactions that took place the day Jesus Christ rose from the dead. All three scenes have a common theme from the human view of the events along with Jesus’ response, to heaven’s view of Jesus life and death. Just as the individuals were hoping for Jesus to meet their needs all of us hope Jesus will meet our needs in this life. Hope in Christ is a good thing to live with, but as we will see from the text, Jesus is not obligated to meet our needs. Every need Jesus meets in this life is an act of his grace. The one need Jesus meets that we cannot lose sight of is our greatest need… God-approved payment for our sins.

Read the following song lyrics in relation to the sermon:

Jesus Paid It All (Christ I Owe)
I hear the Saviour say
Thy strength indeed is small
Child of weakness watch and pray
Find in Me thine all in all

Chorus
Jesus paid it all
All to Him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow

Lord now indeed I find
Thy power and Thine alone
Can change the leper's spots
And melt the heart of stone

For nothing good have I
Whereby Thy grace to claim
I'll wash my garments white
In the blood of Calvary's Lamb

And when before the throne
I stand in Him complete
Jesus died my soul to save
My lips shall still repeat
