Worship Preparation: June 26, 2022

Read the sermon text: Galatians 3:10-14
Read the sermon summary: As we take a brief hiatus from our series through Deuteronomy, we’ll take a Sunday to consider a passage which references Deuteronomy, as well as the themes of blessings and curses. In this passage we see a contrast between those who are of faith and those who are of the law. It is those of faith, that is, those who rely on Christ, who are redeemed from the curse of the law and receive the promise of God. In preparation for the sermon consider the following questions: What does it mean to rely on the works of the law? What does Paul mean when he says “the law is not of faith”? What is “the blessing of Abraham” that has come to the Gentiles?
Read the following song lyrics in relation to the sermon:
O Come To The Altar
Are you hurting and broken within
Overwhelmed by the weight of your sin
Jesus is calling
Have you come to the end of yourself
Do you thirst for a drink from the well
Jesus is calling
O come to the altar
The Father's arms are open wide
Forgiveness was bought with
The precious blood of Jesus Christ

Leave behind your regrets and mistakes
Come today there's no reason to wait
Jesus is calling
Bring your sorrows and trade them for joy
From the ashes a new life is born
Jesus is calling
Oh what a Savior
Isn't he wonderful
Sing alleluia Christ is risen
Bow down before him
For he is Lord of all
Sing alleluia Christ is risen
Bear your cross as you wait for the crown
Tell the world of the treasure you've found
