Read the sermon text: John 10:22-42

Read the sermon summary: John 10:22–42 largely brings to a close a series of interactions, even disputes, between Jesus and the Jewish people in Jerusalem which began in chapter 5. In the end, the Jewish people there reject Jesus, choosing rather to remain in unbelief, opposed to Jesus. As the people cannot be persuaded to change their minds, neither can Jesus. In the face of rejection, He continues to make tremendous claims about Himself and His relationship with the Father. He is again the True Shepherd who will save all the sheep given to Him by the Father. Moreover, He is even one with the Father. He is in the Father, and the Father is in Him. Despite this rejection, Jesus affirms that He is the Son of God sent to redeem a people through His cross and resurrection. As you prepare for the corporate gathering, look through the passage to notice two categorical items. First, notice the ways in which the Jewish people are exposed by Jesus in their unbelief. Second, look at the many ways in which Jesus affirms His relationship with the Father and the truth of His claims. Pray that God will open our eyes to see the glory of the Good Shepherd together.
Read the following song lyrics in relation to the sermon:
O Fount Of Love
O fount of love divine that flows
From my Savior's bleeding side
Where sinners trade their filthy rags
For His righteousness applied
Mercy cleansing ev'ry stain
Now rushing o'er us like a flood
There the wretch and vilest ones
Stand adopted through His blood
O mount of grace to Thee we cling
From the law hath set us free
Once and for all on Calv'ry's hill
Love and justice shall agree
Praise the Lord the price is paid
The curse defeated by the Lamb
We who once were slaves by birth
Sons and daughters now we stand
O well of joy is mine to drink
For my Lord has conquered death
Victorious forevermore
The ancient foe is laid to rest
Hallelujah Christ is King
Alive and reigning on the throne
Our tongues employed with hymns of praise
Glory be to God alone
From Him through Him to Him be all praise
