Worship Preparation: August 10, 2014

Worship Preparation – Sunday, August 10, 2014

1. Ways to use this worship preparation:
• Print it out Friday and place it in your bible for the weekend
• Use it as a family devotion and time of prayer on Saturday evening.

2. Read sermon text: Psalm 63

3. Read sermon summary: This week we will study one of my favorite Psalms. It is one of my favorites because it reminds us that God alone is all satisfying. It speaks to our natural longing for a relationship with our creator, and gives rich illustrations that describe how satisfying it is to know and love Him. Psalms are always best understood after many hours of consideration, so take time to read Psalm 63 several times before Sunday morning. In order to prepare for our time together on Sunday think about the pictures he creates, and consider their meaning.

4. Consider the following song and its relationship to the sermon:

Be Thou My Vision
Be Thou my vision O Lord of my heart
Naught be all else to me Save that Thou art
Thou my best thought By day or by night
Waking or sleeping Thy presence my light

Be Thou my wisdom Be Thou my true Word
I ever with Thee And Thou with me Lord
Thou my great Father and I Thy true son
Thou in me dwelling And I with Thee one

Riches I heed not Nor man's empty praise
Thou mine inheritance Now and always
Thou and Thou only Be first in my heart
High King of heaven My treasure Thou art

High King of heaven When vict'ry is won
May I reach heaven's joys O bright heaven's Sun
Heart of my own heart Whatever befall
Still be my vision O Ruler of all
