Worship Preparation: December 6, 2015

Sunday, December 6, 2015

1. Read the sermon text: Isaiah 42:1-4 (also read chapters 41 and 43)

2. Read the sermon summary: In this world of sin and strife what we need is hope. We wait expectantly for someone or something to make right all the wrongs in our world and in our lives. But in what do we place our hope? And more importantly, will the object of our hope be able to deliver on our expectations? In this passage the prophet Isaiah describes the one, God's servant, who would come and establish justice and peace for his people and throughout the world. His name is Jesus. And he alone is the hope of the world and all mankind.

3. Read the following song lyrics in relationship to the sermon:

O Come All Ye Faithful
O come all ye faithful
Joyful and triumphant
O come ye O come ye to Bethlehem
Come and behold Him
Born the King of angels

O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him
Christ the Lord

Sing choirs of angels
Sing in exultation
O sing all ye bright
Hosts of heav'n above
Glory to God all
Glory in the highest

Yea Lord we greet Thee
Born this happy morning
Jesus to Thee be all glory giv'n
Word of the Father
Now in flesh appearing
