Worship Preparation: March 23, 2014

Worship Preparation – Sunday, March 23, 2014

1. Ways to use this worship preparation:
• Print it out Friday and place it in your bible for the weekend
• Use it as a family devotion and time of prayer on Saturday evening.

2. Read sermon text: 1 Timothy 2:1-7

3. Read sermon summary: As we begin chapter 2, Paul begins with an encouragement to pray for all people. It appears that the church may have become somewhat self-focused, and may have forgotten that the Gospel, which Paul spent the first chapter highlighting, should be propelling their thoughts outside the circle of their fellowship. Paul will challenge them, and us, to believe that God's plans for redemption are much bigger than their current church membership. As we begin to understand the magnitude of what God desires to do in the world, it will transform and increase our prayers.

4. Consider the following songs and their relationship to the sermon:

You Said
You said, Ask and you will receive
Whatever you need
You said, pray and I'll hear from heaven
And I'll heal your land

You said, Your glory will fill the earth
Like water the sea
You said, Lift up your eyes
The harvest is here, The kingdom is near

You said, Ask and I'll give the nations to you
O Lord that's the cry of my heart
Distant shores and the islands
Will see Your light as it rises on us

Reuben Morgan

The mountains standing in Your strength
The oceans roaring out Your praise
All creation glorifies Your name

The angels bow before Your throne
The heavens shine for You alone
All creation glorifies Your name
All creation glorifies Your name

Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord
Almighty, Worthy, All the earth is filled
With Your glory, glory
We give You glory, glory
Interlude to Verse 3: Interlude to Bridge:

In Your hand You hold the universe
At Your feet the nations of the earth
All creation glorifies Your name
All creation glorifies Your name

Blessing honor, Glory power
All our praise is Yours forever
