Worship Preparation: November 24, 2013

Worship Preparation – Sunday, November 24, 2013

1. Ways to use this worship preparation:
• Print it out Friday and place it in your bible for the weekend
• Use it as a family devotion and time of prayer on Saturday evening.

2. Read sermon text: Psalm 100 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
Serve the Lord with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!
Know that the Lord, he is God!
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!
For the Lord is good;
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations. (ESV)

3. Read sermon summary: Our country will give a lot of time and attention to the idea of thanksgiving in the coming week, and we will take this opportunity to remember the one who deserves all thanks and praise. We will consider what makes him worthy of thanks and praise as we study this familiar Psalm, and prayer is that it would enhance our Thanksgiving celebration by serving as a fresh reminder that everything good has come from his hand.

4. Consider the songs and their relationship to the sermon:
Jesus Paid it All
I hear the Savior say, Thy strength indeed is small;
Child of weakness, watch and pray, Find in Me thine all in all.

Jesus paid it all, All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.

Lord, now indeed I find Thy pow’r, and Thine alone,
Can change the leper’s spots and melt the heart of stone.

And when before the throne, I stand in Him complete,
Jesus died my soul to save, my lips shall still repeat.

O praise the One who paid my debt
And raised this life up from the dead
O praise the One who paid my debt
And raised this life up from the dead

Praise belongs to You
Let every kingdom bow
Let every ocean roar
Let every heart adore You now
Praise belongs to You
What can I do but sing
The greatest joy I've found
Is to lay a crown before my King
Before my King

I've come to worship
I've come to lift up Your Name
For You deserve this life laid down
Like the one that You gave
I have but one voice
One heart and one sacrifice
So would You take this life laid down
And be glorified be glorified
(Be glorified be glorified)

Praise belongs to You
Let songs from children rise
You silence all Your foes
You set Your glory in the skies
Praise belongs to You
Creation's calling now
For the King to be revealed
O King of Heaven come down
King of Heaven come down
